I am a PhD chemist by training where my research utilizes ultra-short light pulses to capture snapshots of molecules over the course of millionths of a billionth of a second. My scientific work has not only given me a deep expertise in the principles of optics and light, but it has also given me an appreciation and curiosity for the different ways we can observe the world around us. These skills and interests have naturally led me to photography.

While my initial interest in photography was rooted in science, it has grown into a way for me to capture the places I’ve lived and the moments that have made an impression on me while traveling. I’m drawn to landscapes, natural environments, and the sense of place I encounter, with the goal of creating images that convey not only what a moment looked like, but what it felt like to be there. As photography has grown into a deeper passion of mine, I’ve become increasingly interested in capturing the people, relationships, animals, and experiences that give a place its character. Whether exploring somewhere new or simply noticing something meaningful in an otherwise ordinary moment, I approach photography with the same level of curiosity and attention to detail that guides my scientific work.
